Tragically, I did not go anywhere warm for spring break (got something bigger being planned for June, stay tuned!). But, my mom and I still wanted to do a little get away so we decided to go into Boston for the weekend and stay at The Ritz Carlton. First of all, let me just say that the service was incredible. I know, I know, it’s the Ritz that’s how it should be. But, I’ve stayed at some Ritz’s before that have not been so up to par. Everyone was extremely attentive and our stay was so carefree and relaxing which was exactly what we wanted!
We started our weekend off by exploring Charles Street (just past the Boston Common). We got lunch at Toscano’s, which was delicious, and then just walked around and went in to all of the little shops on the street. We had planned on going out to dinner as well but, once we got into our robes and on our comfy beds we both said nahhh. Slapped on some face masks, ordered room service, binge watched the Kardashians Bora Bora trip (Infamous Kim K diamond earring freak out: Season 6 Episode 11, you’re welcome) and called it a night.
Being a huge indoor cycling fan (shoutout to Wheelhouse in Andover; check them out!) , I started my day early with an awesome spin class at B/Spoke (highly recommend if you are visiting Boston). My mom is not a huge fan of spinning so we reunited after my class and went to brunch at Met Back Bay. I absolutely LOVE their brunch and it is definitely one of my favorites in Boston. We both got mimosas and I ordered the Egg White Scramble; SO yummy! The restaurant is located in the heart of Newbury Street so we obviously had to spend the rest of the day shopping (see “spring break haul” for some of the great things I bought!). It was such a beautiful day and we took advantage of it by walking around Newbury Street and enjoying the sun’s company. Later that night we got dinner at Boston Chops, which I would highly recommend for a high end dinner night. Very good if you are in the mood for a nice steak with a cool restaurant vibe! After dinner we were able to catch an AMAZING show at The Emerson Colonial Theater. We saw The Illusionists and it was absolutely mind blowing. My mom and I were very entertained and the show left us speechless and pleasantly surprised. I know they are done with their shows in Boston but you should check it out if you get another chance!
Sunday morning I started my day with a different spin class at The Handle Bar, which was super great and I would also highly recommend. My mom and I then met up with my dad and some of our close family friends for brunch at Committee. I had never been here before and it was delicious! Great vibe and amazing food, I will be back again. The perfect way to end our mini getaway!
